Today our friend Luis Alberto Spinetta left, singing in silence and forever. I say “friend” because his music was always so close to us that it was not possible for us to feel the skinny guy any other way. From cassettes, vinyl, and CDs, Luis showed us without ever hesitation what it was like to make music without ever losing the horizon of honesty, outside of all pretense of fame and money that excites 90% of musicians so much.
From here on, music in Argentina is history. We will talk about the past when we talk about rock in Argentina. Today is the day after; from today on, the “do you remember” music begins.
How did you manage to escape unscathed from the fools, looters, and opportunistic rock business people! How did you take flight and always be new! Even at 62 years old, you kept the course of your music serene, in silence, in your house, which was connected to ours by underwater music tubes. Thank you, “Captain Beto” for reminding us all the time that it is possible to make real music, but really real music.
